Fat Injections

As we age, the underlying tissues that plump up our skin and keep us looking youthful begin to break down. This leads to the appearance of aging features such as lines, wrinkles, sagging and loss of volume. Fat injections, specifically adding your own fat, can fill out depressed areas of your face and body. Areas that can be treated include the nasolabial folds next to the mouth, and the hollows in the cheeks. Fat can also be used in the jowls, lips, eyebrows and temporal hollows. Fat injections can also be used to treat depressions caused by previous surgeries and or skin grafting depressions following liposuction, and loss of volume of their body areas. Dr. Jill Hazen will discuss the changes that you would like to make in your appearance. She will examine your skin and facial structure, and explain the different options available to you to best achieve the results you envision.

Candidates for fat injections are women and men who have lost fat and overall volume, and want to use filler that is totally natural. The fat used for fat transfer is extracted from part of your body such as the abdomen or thighs and injected into the desired area that requires plumping. The fat is processed and re-injected into the area using a fine canula. The procedure can take anywhere from one to two hours. There is usually swelling and mild bruising which resolve over the first week after the injection of the fat. Over time, part of the fat, known now as stem cells, will actually produce new fat cells. Your results may continue to improve with time. This minimally invasive procedure can give a boost to one’s self confidence by giving individuals a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Sclerotherapy in Princeton

Spider veins or telangiectasia typically appear red or blue in color and are very common in both women and men. Many factors may contribute to their formation including aging, heredity, and hormonal influences. In fact, multiple pregnancies can increase your risk for varicosities. Sclerotherapy is a procedure performed by Dr. Jill Hazen which involves injecting the abnormal veins with a medicine, or sclerosant. This chemical causes an injury to the inside of the veins which eliminates them immediately.

Light compression stockings are worn immediately after the procedure for the first two to three days continuously, then during the daytime only for a week. The number of treatments depends largely on the extent of spider veins present. While the average number of treatments is approximately three to four, sometimes as many as six treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results.
