Lip Augmentation New Jersey
Lip implant Augmentation is
a simple procedure performed under local anesthesia in
our surgical suite and takes approximately 30 minutes.
A small incision is made at the ends of the implant site
and a small tunnel or pocket (under the skin) is made between
these incisions for placement of the implant. The implant
is inserted through the incision and gently positioned
in the implant site. The ends of the implant are cut and
trimmed and placed under the skin away from the incisions.
The incisions are closed with very fine sutures which are
self dissolving within 3-5 days.
Patients are up and around immediately after receiving
facial implants and although soft tissue and restoration
is visible immediately, some swelling, bruising or discomfort
may occur. Most patients can return to normal activities
the next day. Most swelling, bruising and discomfort
should disappear after the first week. Within 3 to 4
months after the implant procedure the healing and restoration
is complete. If you have always wanted fuller and sensuous
lips, this could be the perfect procedure for you. |

Lip Augmentation is also commonly carried out with filler substances
for those patients who don’t desire a permanent implant.
Common filler agents are autologous fat, collagen, and now restylane™.
Many times, a combination of agents may be used, both minimizing
the time required for the procedure, and increasing the amount
of time the lips remain full.
These agents may also be used in the deep creases from the nose
to the lips (the nasolabial folds), or the lines turning downward
at the corners of the mouth, fine lines and wrinkles may also
be improved with these agents.
