Agnes RF Facial Rejuvenation in Princeton, New Jersey
Proudly serving Mercer County
Targeted radiofrequency (RF) energy is an innovative new technology that is transforming the way plastic surgeons and nurses treat a variety of facial issues, including loose skin, pockets of fat, fine lines, large pores, acne and more.
Dr. Jill Hazen, the founder of Princeton-area Hazen Plastic Surgery and Hazen Medical Spa, is excited to offer patients Agnes RF, a state-of-the-art radiofrequency/microneedling treatment focused on under-eye bags, submental fat, fine lines, large pores, and cystic acne.
During the minimally-invasive procedure, thin needles that are used to penetrate the skin also transmit RF energy below the skin’s surface. This “disrupts” fat cells and aging skin with precisely-targeted heat and pulses of micro-punctures. In defense, your body boosts production of its revitalizing proteins, collagen and elastin. The result is firmer, more flexible skin, fewer fat cells, smaller pores, and fewer blemishes.
Agnes RF is highly effective for a range of surface and subdermal issues, including wrinkles and under-eye bags. Its primary benefit is to improve texture and tone of the skin, but it can also be used for moderate shrinkage of small pockets of fat, especially below the jawline.
Other advantages of Agnes RF include its suitability for all skin types, and the fact that the doctor or nurse can adjust the depth at which the RF energy is applied, allowing exact targeting of specific dermal layers.
Will I need anesthetic?
For most facial areas, the procedure begins with a numbing cream applied to the target area. This is usually sufficient to manage any discomfort, but other anesthetic options are available for patients who are apprehensive or for treatments that involve deeper punctures or a higher RF energy setting. Local anesthetic injections are often used for deeper treatments and under the eyes.
What is recovery like?
Deeper treatments will react with some swelling and occasional bruising that may last up to a week. By the fourth day, you will be able to use makeup to conceal the redness. Hypersensitivity may last for up to a month. When Agnes RF is used to treat cystic acne, redness may persist for one to three days.
When will I see the final result?
In the first two weeks after an Agnes RF session, the condition of the treated area may actually seem worse than before. As swelling and redness subside, your appearance will slowly improve. The real benefit of Agnes RF, however, is its stimulation of collagen and elastin production, and this happens slowly. It can take up to six months for the newly-generated collagen to revitalize under-eye bags and improve wrinkles, and for disrupted fat cells to be absorbed by the body. Results for cystic acne treatment will be apparent much sooner, normally within two weeks. The Agnes RF treatment does require a series of treatments which can be anywhere between 3-6 treatments or more, every 4-6 weeks depending on what the treatment is addressing.
