Many patients at our practice have questions about the difference between Cellulaze and liposuction. Although both are designed to improve the look of your body, they are intended for different purposes. Learn more:
Cellulaze is a minimally invasive procedure designed to attack the very structure of cellulite below the skin. A special laser heats up and liquefies fat while also helping to thicken the skin and improve skin elasticity. This improves skin quality while smoothing out bumps and bulges. Cellulaze is ideal for women who want to get rid of “cottage cheese” on the thighs and legs.
Liposuction has been around for many years and is used to remove fat and sculpt the body. Liposuction is not a weight-loss treatment. The goal is to not reduce your weight through liposuction but to improve your contour. It is designed to remove small, isolated pockets of unwanted fat. Some people may experience an improvement in the look of cellulite with liposuction, but this is not true for everyone. For this reason, liposuction is not intended as a treatment for cellulite. The best candidates for liposuction are healthy men and women who are active and fit but who may want to thin certain “trouble zones” that don’t respond to exercise.
